History of the WB Moore Company of Charlotte

The history of the WB Moore Company of Charlotte started in Dallas, Texas in 1978 where its Founder, William Bruce Moore originally formed the Company. He realized that organized electrical contracting companies had become too bureaucratic to function efficiently and were not flexible enough to respond to the rapidly changing marketplace. With a team chosen for their initiative and aptitude, he formed a company that elevated merit shop electrical contracting to a recognized professional level. The WB Moore Company has certain valuable qualities that have made them stand out from the competition – independence, initiative, creativity, integrity and flexibility. Each employee was chosen as a vital part of the team and was empowered to fully exercise those talents.

The Charlotte office of the WB Moore Company was originally organized in August 1989 for the purpose of providing commercial electrical contracting work for NationsBank's 60-story Corporate Center. Through its talented and capable personnel, this office successfully assisted in the completion of the largest and most prestigious construction project in the City of Charlotte, North Carolina’s history. When the company’s Founder passed away, the company closed its Dallas office in 1993. The Charlotte office continues to operate under the direction of Billy Graves, the principal who has been with the Corporate Center project since its inception.

As a result of the aggressive and ambitious policies of the WB Moore Company and the experience of its employees, the Charlotte office was involved in major commercial projects in North Carolina from the onset. The company has gained enormous recognition from its innovative approach to the design/construct team, value engineering and competitive bidding procedures.
