WB Moore was selected as the Division 16 Electrical Contractor to replace existing Sootblower controls system and engineering design of an Over Fire Air System at Belews Creek Steam Station. This detailed and complex project consisted of the following -

1. Station Unit #1, Soot Blower Upgrade (Design/Engineering) - Converting existing relay logic Soot Blower controls to a new Emerson Process Control Ovation System. Involves thirty (30) IR soot blowers, forty (40) IK soot blowers, four (4) IK-SL soot blowers, rewiring eight (8) field termination boxes, connections to four (4) new Ovation Cabinets, and two (2) marshalling cabinets.  2. Unit #2 NOx  Upgrade (Design/Engineering) - Design/Engineered a functionally complete control system for a reliable operation of an Over Fire Air System with a combustion diagnostic and optimization system.

The OFA damper drives were fully integrated with a new DCS control system. The MK combustion diagnostic and optimization system shared via data link to the new DCS system.
3. Unit #1 Flame Doctor (Design/Engineering) - The purpose of this design was to tie a flame diagnostic system into eighty (80) flame scanners. The flame diagnostic system was monitored via Ethernet cable to the OPC server.  4. Unit #1&2 AshFLO Analyzer - Design and install two (2) measurement cabinets in precipitator control room, eight (8) UBC sensor/motor assemblies, associated instrument air supply, eight (8) motor control boxes, eight (8) solenoid vales for ash cleaning at sampler, cable terminations at three (3) Emerson DCS cards, and provide two (2) air-dryer systems with piping tie-ins into main air headers with bypass valves.
