| The
electrical contract for this project was valued at approximately
$15Million. The Hearst Tower Trading floor and Data Center were
completed in March, 2004 and can accommodate approximately 1000
trading desks. This facility is located at 214 North Tryon
Street, Charlotte, and is the second tallest building in North
Carolina (658 feet and 48 floors). Building construction
was complete in 2001 at a final cost of $160 Million.
The Hearst Publishing Corporation and Bank of America are the
primary tenants in the building with space also designated for
retail on lower levels. The Bank’s Trading Floors
are located on floors 12-15. |
The three floors will
accommodate Bank of America’s stock-trading area, a place where
lighting has been deemed crucial to productivity. The Trading Floors
will be electronically
wired to Wall Street and will replace an existing Trading Center
at the BOA’s Corporate Center. One floor at the Hearst Tower
will be used as a 40,000 S/F data control floor center and
the other two floors will be combined as a large atrium-like trading
center
that will accommodate up to 1,000 traders. |
