Training Program

WB Moore is committed to offer its employees the opportunity to advance in the career as an electrician.  Our quality force is comprised of apprenticeship to craftsmen personnel.  Through coordinated effort with the Carolinas Associated General Contractors our students receive accredited training by the National Center for Construction Education & Research for craft-worker training. Students are tested on their skills at the completion of each module. The National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) is responsible for the design, implementation, control, and evaluation of this national standardized craft training process.

In addition to apprenticeship training, WB Moore offers career enhancement opportunities for our employees and has an array of courses ranging from NEC Code classes to OSHA 10/30-hour certification.  Below are a few samples of types of training offered for qualified employees:

  • Leadership School: Through the Employers Association newly appointed or prospective leaders attend four consecutive weekly ½ day sessions.  The course curriculum focuses on enabling participants to achieve and maintain the difficult balance necessary to function as a worker and as a team leader. This is a skills development course designed to allow each participant the opportunity to learn key steps in the leadership process. Using skills learned in the session, the participant builds self-confidence.

  • Principals of Management:  Through the Employers Association, selected personnel assigned to management positions attend eight consecutive weekly ½ day sessions. Graduates will understand the supervisors’ role in management, utilize tools to lead, plan, organize and control processes and procedures, etc.
  • National Electrical Code Training:  This course is offered to our craftsmen personnel who either are preparing for their North Carolina Limited License or maintaining their certification.  The course curriculum focuses on the practical safeguarding of persons and property from hazards arising from the use of electricity.  The certified trainer covers the installation of electric conductors, electric equipment, wiring methods and materials, etc.
