Our Apprenticeship Program was created to give employees hands-on training, classroom instruction, and mentorship opportunities that prepare them for long-term success in electrical contracting.
WB Moore’s Registered Electrical Apprenticeship in North Carolina
The WB Moore Apprenticeship Program is officially registered with the North Carolina Department of Labor, the North Carolina Association of Community Colleges, and the U.S. Department of Labor through Apprenticeship.gov. Recognized as a state-approved Hybrid Program, it allows apprentices to graduate once they meet three requirements:
- Classroom Instruction – Apprentices complete structured coursework (576 hours total) designed to build a foundation in electrical systems, wiring, code, and safety.
- On-the-Job Training (OJT) – Apprentices log between 6,000–8,000 hours of hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced field leaders.
- Competency Checklist – Apprentices are evaluated regularly on essential skills such as circuit troubleshooting, blueprint reading, installation of lighting and switchgear, grounding and bonding, and more.
Completing the program earns you both a Certificate of Completion and the nationally recognized Journeyman Electrician Certificate, credentials that can open doors across the electrical industry.
Electrician Career Advancement with On-the-Job Training & Mentorship
Our Apprenticeship Program is a benefit for WB Moore employees. To be eligible, employees must first work with the company for 3–6 months before applying, giving them the chance to grow their expertise while making meaningful contributions on the job. The program is designed to:
- Equip participants with technical skills and safety knowledge they’ll use daily.
- Provide financial support for tuition and books, making education accessible.
- Offer bonuses and wage progression tied to classroom engagement and performance.
- Create mentorship opportunities, where apprentices both learn from seasoned professionals and later mentor those entering the trade.
It’s a system built to grow careers while fueling WB Moore’s culture of learning, safety, and innovation.
