Among the many new additions to Mountain Island Charter School in Mount Holly, NC; WB Moore was honored to take part of the new construction of the 75,785 SF elementary school.

With the challenges of the school being in full swing, having to schedule deliveries before and after school hours and additional delays due to ongoing inclement weather; our field representatives worked diligently with the GC and other contractors to minimize delays that this could bring to the project. Our trained and qualified Project Managers and Electricians were able to remain focused and continued to provide the Moore quality of work that our customers are accustomed to and expect. Also, as the recipient of The National Safety Award for countless number of years’; WB Moore understood the extra safety challenges that comes with working on an educational facility as such. However, we were able to complete the project without safety violations or critical incidents.

The scope of work for this project included, but not limited to: Interior/Exterior Lighting; Convenience Power; HVAC & Motor Connections; Distribution Equipment; Fire Alarm System (specifically designed for schools); Cable Tray; as well as temporary power & lighting for the construction.

Due to ongoing design changes, our staff experienced several “out of scope” change orders during this project, but ultimately, these changes enhanced the overall safety of the school and its future Students, Faculty, and Staff.
